The purpose of this site is two-fold:  for the author to share pieces of her life with you who may only know her on the surface.  Secondly, that in getting a glimpse of one rebel’s journey – you may come to realize that we are never truly alone in our struggles with figuring out the meaning of life - and that there is hope for us all in finding our purpose in this lifetime.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."    - Ralph Waldo Emerson

The greatest compliment to me as the author and webmaster of this site, is to receive emails from readers who reside from the far-reaching corners of the United States, and even from England and Australia.  Often never knowing of just how the link reached some of your inboxes, I am awed and grateful that complete strangers have read, and then responded to some of my writings.  I have never sent out any spam to promote Rebel Odyssey.  It is "just there" to electronically view, at your whim, on your computer screens - whenever.  The biggest thrill is actually hearing from some of the unknown readers.  I thank-you from the bottom of my heart.              "The Rebel"

Webster’s Dictionary defines “rebel” as one who resists any authority or controls.  The description of “odyssey” is a voyage or journey marked by many changes of fortune, or an intellectual or spiritual wandering or quest.  The naming of this website, Rebel Odyssey, was derived from the words' definitions and literary attempts of the author.      Amy Allison

"So I sat down to write at my desk in the dim light of the street lamp outside my window.  Since I was a child I have written to understand myself and the world, to find the stories that show me the meaning I can make of my life...as the words slowed, I recognized a voice that has always been there within me;  the voice that passionately seeks life's purpose, the voice of the tired heart that longs for real intimacy and deep rest;  the voice that asks me to be fully present with it all--the pain and the joy, the beauty and the sorrow, the inner silence and the noise of the world."       Oriah Mountain Dreamer, from "Opening the Invitation"

"We each are traveling our own, very special path in this life. At times our paths run parallel to each other. On occasion they may intersect.  But we do all have a common destination: knowledge of life's meaning.  And we'll arrive at knowledge when we've arrived at the mountain's summit separately, and yet together."    Karen Casey

"I don't understand people who hide from their past.  Everything you live through helps make you the person you are now". Sophia Loren

"Those that don't get it, can't show it.  Those that got it, can't hide it."     Zora Neale Hurston

"I've learned that to expose yourself, to reveal yourself, is a test of your humanness."   Isabelle Adjani

You have a purpose and a mission - something to contribute during your stay on earth. Even now spirit is beckoning you to fulfill your unique greatness. Listen and you will hear the call.  Unknown
