Magician of Deception

Master of Deception…is his only game

He says one thing with emphasis….but doesn’t do the same

It’s lies and games and half-truth, that dot his lonely world

The casualties he leaves behind…on a wall the names are hurled.

He prides himself in mystery – creates a vague mystique

So slippery is he, beyond reproach – don’t dare to critique.

He loves to live and reach out and generously gives to others

But always by his own rules – has always his own druthers….

He doesn’t take and makes that clear,  so honorable is he

The “Master of Humility” is his plaintive plea

He seeks you out and ‘round his finger you at once are curled

That’s the way he wants it…in his deceptive little world.

Watch your heart…the Master knows… just how far he can go

He can make it disappear… a magical part of his “show”

Take a risk with this man and know you cannot win

When you spend your time with him…you’re “had” – and know you’ve been…..

You better beware and don’t get fooled by the biggest act there is

He is a wolf in sheep’s skin…the best in all “show biz”

I’ve been fooled so many times, yet each time I can see

It’s not his fault, it’s mine….so alas! the joke’s on me.
